How much will the Nuclear RAB levy cost my business?

Updated over a week ago

The cost of the Nuclear RAB levy depends on how much electricity your business uses.

From 1 December 2025 to 31 December 2025, the rate set by Ofgem is £3.494 per MWh of electricity consumed.

Illustrative example:

If your business uses 100 MWh per year, the Nuclear RAB would add £349.40 per year to your electricity costs.

Because a small amount of electricity is lost as it travels across the network, charges are applied to electricity drawn from the grid rather than just on-site usage. This means the effective cost of Nuclear RAB on a bill may appear slightly higher.

The levy is reviewed quarterly and may increase or decrease over time. All licensed suppliers are required to pass this cost through to customers in line with the regulated rate.
