P442 (Exempt Supply) is a regulatory scheme that connects eligible renewable generation (like solar or wind) to one or more businesses’ energy usage.
When we match the volume generated by Generator A to the energy consumption of Business A, the generator is considered an “exempt supplier” to that business, which means that business can have certain Non-Commodity Costs (NCCs) reduced.
Energy bills don’t just include power costs. They also include Non-Commodity Costs (NCCs) - like policy costs. These can make up a big portion of your bill.
When a business is linked to a generator through P442, some of those NCCs can be reduced on that portion of your energy bill. This unlocks savings on your energy bills, while more value flows back to the generator powering your business.
Those savings you’ll see, are what we call your RED Plus Benefit.
