How will tem contact me?

tem will only ever initiate contact by email from an @tem.energy address. If a site visit is needed for your meter, our metering agent Haste/TMA or Stark will be in touch from an @hasteltd.co.uk or @stark.co.uk address. We'll never ask for your tem login or password, and we won't ask for bank details unless we've already sent you a Direct Debit form to complete.

Will tem ever call me?

We won't call you out of the blue to ask for information or payment. If a call is ever genuinely needed - for example, chasing an overdue invoice or following up on a signed contract change - we'll always email first to explain why and agree a time. The only exception is an urgent, unresolved meter fault, where Haste/TMA or Stark may call directly.

Will tem ever ask me for payment, personal details, or to agree to changes unprompted?

No. We will never:

  • Ask you to make a payment or share bank/card details over an unsolicited call, email, or text

  • Ask you to confirm your tem login, password, or full bank details

  • Tell you your prices or standing charges have changed on an unprompted call

  • Ask you to agree to a contract change verbally, without giving you something in writing to review first

  • Pressure you to act immediately, without time to check with us directly

How do I check a message is genuinely from tem?

Genuine emails from tem will come from @tem.energy addresses (or @hasteltd.co.uk, @stark.co.uk for meter visits), won't ask for sensitive details, and won't pressure you to act immediately. If you're unsure, don't click anything or call any number in the message - forward it to [email protected] and we'll confirm.

What if I'm a generator - does anything differ?

tem pays you,so the main risk is someone trying to redirect where your payments go. We'll never ask you to change your bank details, confirm account credentials, or agree to changes to your generation agreement over an unsolicited call or message.

What should I do if I’m unsure?

If you’re unsure, you should always ignore the message or hang up, and contact us directly at [email protected] before taking any action. Do not use any contact details given in a suspicious email or text.

What should I do if I think I've made a payment or shared details in response to a suspicious message?
