Why is my TNUoS charge changing in April 2026?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Each year, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) updates TNUoS rates based on what they determine is needed to fund the grid. The new rate for FY26 (which starts 1 April 2026) was published on 30 Jan - it’s slightly lower than the earlier forecast.

If you’re a tem customer, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll automatically apply the updated rate as 100% passsthrough from April, and you’ll see it clearly on your bill under the “TNUoS – Residual Banded Charges” line item.
